This glassblowing stainless steel lampworking blowpipe measures a total of 18″ (455 mm), with a 15.5″ (395 mm) shaft and a 2.5″ (64 mm) head. The shaft is 1/4″ (6 mm) in diameter and the head measures 2/5″ (10 mm) diameter at it’s maximum thickest. It’s lightweight about 65 gr (0,15 lb) and it’s have brass Mouthpiece. This glassblowing stainless steel blowpipe easy to handle, making it perfect for lampworking in your studio.

The process:

1. Heat the head of the blowpipe.
2. Gather the molten glass rod into ball.
3. Place your gather on the heated blowpipe end. A simple but accurate analogy is turning caramel onto an apple.
4. Marver (shape) your glass into ball and reheat it.
5. Blow into the pipe then cover the hole with your thumb or tongue. The positive pressure will cause the trapped air to expand inside the pipe, which in turn will create a bubble.
6. Open the hole on opposite side and finish the piece.
7. Cut in a Jack line (use diamond shears). Create score lines in the piece’s neck with diamond shears or jacks. The neck should be equal to or less than the diameter of your pipe.
8. Crack your piece off of the pipe.
9. Anneal in order to cool off.

Your blowpipe will be sent first class post next working day.
